As the world gets ready for Meghan and Harry to tie the knot this Saturday May 19th, speculation over the guest list continues. Meghan's group of friends is so close she couldn't pick a maid of honor. Here are some of Meghan’s closest girl friends who should be at the wedding!
BFF Lindsay Roth
Meghan said that her dream dinner party would include “Anthony Bourdain, Gwyneth Paltrow, Mario Batali, Jamie Oliver, and my best friend Lindsay. Those are solid chefs and foodies that I would be in awe of eating with, but that wouldn’t feel intimidating to cook for because they seem fun. And I would just want Linds there to giggle about all of it with me.”
Lindsay Roth and Meghan have been best friends since they met at Northwestern in a Toni Morrison literature class. Meghan helped her plan her dream bachelorette getaway and was her maid of honor. They frequently shared photos of each other on Instagram.
Producer and author Lindsay wrote the book “What Pretty Girls are Made Of” and based one of the characters on Meghan. Meghan of course attended the book launch party showing that she is always there for her friends.
Stylist Jessica Mulroney
Meghan and Jessica hit it off at a yoga class in Toronto. They share a love of yoga, fashion and travel. Jessica helped Meghan select many of her elegant outfits including the white wrap coat by Canadian brand the Label that Meghan wore with Harry when they posed for engagement photos in Kensington Gardens. (We speculated that Jessica could be maid of honor here.)
Jessica also styled Meghan’s character Rachel on Suits when she helped her select the wedding gown she wore in her final episode.
The two vacationed together in Italy. They are also friends with Soho House’s Markus Anderson who some say had a hand in introducing Harry and Meghan. Jessica is part of the elite Canadian political powerhouses in Meghan’s group of friends that includes Sophie Grégoire Trudeau who Jessica has also styled.
Meghan calls Jessica’s family her own. Here she is dancing with Jessica's daughter Ivy.
Designer Misha Nonoo
This is the woman who many speculate is Meghan and Harry’s matchmaker. Misha was born in Bahrain, grew up in London and is based in NYC.
Misha and Meghan vacationed together in Ibiza in 2016 along with Benita Litt and Heather Dorak, Meghan’s long-time trainer.
Misha’s gorgeous Instagram feed is sprinkled with every celebrity from the Hadid sister, to Gwyneth Paltrow, Olivia Polermo (also a good friend of Meghan's), Sarah Jessica Parker, and Emma Watson. Once married to Harry’s schoolmate Alexander Gilkes, she and Meghan share a passion for women’s rights. Meghan, Misha and Markus named themselves the M’s.
Misha called Meghan a “true unicorn” on her birthday.
Meghan wore the now famous oversized white shirt, designed by Misha, at her first public appearance with Harry at the Invictus Games last September.
Meghan’s LA friend Benita Litt is a brand curator and keeps her Instagram private. She has worked with companies like Jo Malone and Netflix. Meghan calls her daughters her “fairy goddaughters” and loves spending time with them crafting, cuddling and eating pizza.
Heather Dorak is the one who is responsible for training Meghan at her LA pilates studio called Pilates Premium. Meghan says “She is amazing – as an instructor, as a friend, she is inspiring in every way.” After spending Christmas with Heather and Benita, Meghan posted a photo with the words “When friends become family”.
Tennis Goddess Serena Williams
The two women hit it off at a charity flag football game. Serena often contributed to Meghan’s blog The Tig. Meghan wrote “We are both the same age, have a penchant for hot sauces, and adore fashion but what connects us more than those things is perhaps our belief in exceeding expectations – our endless ambition.” Serena gave this wedding advice to Meghan ““I just think it’s so important to enjoy the moment, and eat the cake—I didn’t get to eat mine at the wedding. We were just having so much fun!” She also said “I’m obviously super happy for her, she’s such a great girl and she is incredibly nice and I couldn’t be happier for her.”
This actress/producer who has made over 50 Bollywood movies and now stars in Quantico became friends with Meghan when they bonded at a Elle Women in Television dinner. Priyanka has said of Megan “With her, what you see is real, and what you get is a relatable young woman with her heart and mind in the right place.”
Meghan credits long-time friend and fellow actress Janina with urging her to start her blog The Tig. Meghan said of their friendship on Instagram “Couldn’t be more proud of how far we’ve come, and couldn’t be more grateful for being able to share every step of the way with you.”
We can’t forget Sarah Rafferty, Gina Torres and Abigail Spencer. Meghan bonded closely with the whole cast of Suits while living in Toronto calling Sarah her “sister wife”. Abigail and Meghan share the same birthday Sept. 4, 1981, and clearly lots of laughter.
Sarah Rafferty posted on Instagram yesterday from Paris and Suits star Gabriel Macht's wife actress Jacinda Barrett (who we also love from Bloodline) posted a Mother's Day kiss in front of Buckingham Palace...will she be there too? We can't wait to find out!
Reportedly, Meghan's attendants will be children and could include Ivy Mulroney and Benita Litt's two daughters.
