Penelope Cruz is headlining a stunning new campaign for the French luxury brand Chanel.
The nautical-themed shoot, by creative director Karl Lagerfeld, features the actress in a series of black and white images inspired by Mediterranean style. The Spanish beauty sports looks from the upcoming 2018/2019 cruise collection - including berets, evening dresses and jackets.
Cruz, who was announced as the new face of the fashion house in July, during Paris Fashion Week, told Women's Wear Daily at the time, "It’s such an iconic brand and Karl is a genius, and I’ve been admiring everything he’s done since I was a little girl, so it’s such a pleasure working with him.
"He’s like the king of fashion and we had a really, really interesting photo shoot, so to be in front of his camera is an adventure."
She added, “They have created this fantasy; it makes you dream. But it’s a fantasy that has very solid roots because of Karl. Every time you look at a Chanel piece you know it’s Chanel, but it’s totally new.”
Cruz joins fellow Chanel ambassadors Margot Robbie, Kristen Stewart and Keira Knightley.
Last month (Sep18), she wowed on the red carpet at the Emmy Awards in a feathered grey gown from the brand that was designed especially for her. The look reportedly took 280 hours to hand-embroider. Weeks later, she showed her support for the company again while attending Vanity Fair’s Personality of the Year event in Madrid in a blue dress from Chanel Resort.
The 44 year old previously represented the Madrid-based clothing brand Loewe.
