Camila Cabello's romance with Shawn Mendes inspired her flirty MTV Video Music Awards looks.
The Havana hitmaker attended the annual ceremony at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on Monday night, and prior to the event, prepared three looks - including the white Balmain dress she arrived in.
"This one really stuck out to me because it's just very romantic, which is where I kinda am in life right now," she said of her red carpet dress in a video filmed by Vogue ahead of the big night. "I really like it. I'm actually so excited. This is my favourite red carpet dress I've ever worn so far... I feel like it's perfect for the summer and it's actually just how I want to feel on the carpet."
For her Senorita performance with Mendes during the show, the star picked a different white dress, and drew on the bar scene at the end of the song's sultry video for inspiration.
"We're dancing in a bar as, you know, people do in a bar, casually," she smiled. "I love it! It's literally like a pearlised version of the video."
Despite looking and feeling her best, the stunning 22-year-old admitted she was incredibly nervous ahead of her and Mendes's big moment on the VMAs stage, but turned the butterflies in her stomach to her advantage.
"I think when you have nerves and you use them as, like, a fuel and as a fire, it always makes my performance better. It almost makes me less nervous," she said. "I just breathe and I basically tell myself, 'You have no choice. You gotta do it. You gotta do it well. You have no choice.'"
The pair walked away with the evening's prize for Best Collaboration for the track.
