Do you remember the classic Halloween horror comedy ‘Hocus Pocus’ from 1993? Of course you do! The classic spook has become a Halloween family favourite… Now, Disney has revealed plans to produce a sequel for its upcoming Disney+ streaming service.
As reported by Collider, Jen D’Angelo will write the script for ‘Hocus Pocus 2’ and the team is currently working to bring together the original cast, including Bette Midler as Winifred, Sarah Jessica Parker as Sarah and Kathy Najimy as Mary.
‘Hocus Pocus 2’ is still in pre-production, so it’s hard to say of the original actresses will have leading or supporting roles, or when the new film will be released. In fact, there isn’t even any word yet on whether this will be a film or a series! However, we’re hopeful that this new offering from Disney will be a must-watch on the new Disney+ streaming platform, likely some time next year.
Disney+ launches in the U.S. and Canada November 12, and will start at $8.99 per month – less than Netflix and Crave, but more than Amazon Prime.
