Miley Cyrus has marked the first anniversary of her failed marriage to Liam Hemsworth by releasing a new song about her most miserable Christmas.
My Sad Christmas Song dropped on Sunday (22Dec19), almost a year to the day she married her estranged actor husband on 23 December (18), with Miley telling fans she wrote the tune "a few years back".
"Was feeling like s**t cause I couldn’t be with the one I loved," she tweeted. "Even with a house full of family and friends I still felt alone. In ways that still feels relevant and someone reading this right now could possibly relate! If you feel lonely this season just know YOU ARE COMPLETELY MADE OF MAGIC! You are as special as a snowflake, beautifully unique and I hope inside your soul feels light, hope, peace, and joy knowing how singularly amazing YOU are! Love always wins!"
She also gave the Flaming Lips stars Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd a shout-out for helping her "put this together so f**kin fast so I could share w my fans by Christmas!"
"Recorded at my little garage studio in LA, I wrote the song driving there from Malibu!" she shared.
Reports suggest Miley might be preparing for another sad Christmas after allegedly splitting from boyfriend Cody Simpson, who was photographed on Saturday spending time with Playboy model Jordy Murray.
Her new song features the line: "Why did I even put up a f**kin’ tree/If no one here is gonna see."
Simpson's sister, Alli, has shot down reports suggesting the singer and Miley have split, telling the Daily Mail they are "together for sure".
