David MacNiel was heartbroken when he found out his dog 7-year-old Golden Retriever Scout had cancer and just a 1% chance of surviving… But thanks to innovative techniques, doctors at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine saved Scout’s life!
MacNiel is the CEO of WeatherTech, a manufacturer of automotive accessories and home and pet care products. He felt so grateful to have more time to spend with his friend that he decided to drop $6 million on a Super Bowl ad to thank the vets who saved Scout’s life… And hopefully, help them too!
The touching commercial stars Scout (of course) and encourages viewers to donate to the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. MacNiel hopes to help them make the cutting-edge computer program that saved Scout’s life accessible to more pets.
You can watch the ad here, and donate at http://weathertech.com/donate - 100% of donations go to the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. With this ad, MacNiel and his team at WeatherTech hope to give much more money to the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine than if they had simply given them the $6 million.
The 30-second ad, dubbed “Lucky Dog”, will air Sunday during Super Bowl LIV.
