The Spice Girls will reportedly embark on a massive world tour in 2021 to celebrate the group’s 25th anniversary.

According to The Sun, friends of Mel C say that the singer spilled the anniversary plans, with the band discussing the tour over Zoom.

The only catch is only four out of five of the band’s members will participate.

If this is to be believed, Mel B, Mel C, Emma Bunton, and Geri Horner are said to be planning on performing across Europe, America and Australia— but Victoria Beckham, who turned down their 2019 reunion tour, is said to not be involved.

‘It’s going to be a huge year and the girls are excited,’ one source told the publication. ‘After all the coronavirus problems, there really needs to be something to look forward to and they want to take over 2021 with a tour.’

An additional source added that this could be the last time that the group will perform together again as ‘they are approaching 50, so they want to get out while they still look great for the fans’.

The English supergroup formed in 1994 and two years later they signed to Virgin Records and released their debut single "Wannabe" in 1996; it hit number one in 37 countries and commenced their global success.

Their debut album Spice sold more than 23 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album by a female group in history.

As of 2020, The Spice Girls have sold 85 million records worldwide, making them the best-selling girl group of all time, one of the best-selling pop groups of all time, and the biggest British pop success since The Beatles.

With the "girl power" label, the Spice Girls were among the most popular cultural icons of the 1990s and are often cited as part of the 'second wave' 1990s British Invasion of the US.

Hopefully, if this tour does indeed happen, Montreal will be one of the cities they visit.
