Karlie Kloss is to step back from hosting Project Runway.

The 19th season of the award-winning U.S. show was greenlit on Wednesday by Bravo bosses, who announced in a press release that while mentor Christian Siriano and judges Nina Garcia, Brandon Maxwell, and Elaine Welteroth will be returning, Karlie will only be "making appearances".

Production will begin in New York later this spring, and a source told People magazine that the 28-year-old model is taking a step back from her busy schedule after giving birth to her and husband Joshua Kushner's first child last month.

Karlie, along with Kaia Gerber and Sara Moonves, was also was part of the team that led the buyout of W Magazine in August last year, along with an investors group including the likes of Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton and film producer Jason Blum.

She's also busy with her Kode with Klossy educational organisation and is reportedly gearing up to launch another clothing collection with sportswear giant Adidas.

"She's also got some incredible things cooking on the business and philanthropic fronts that she's really passionate about and pouring a lot of her time into right now. I know she can't wait for the season and is excited to still be involved. She loves Christian, Elaine, Nina and Brandon so much," the source told the outlet.

Karlie took over in 2018 after former host Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn left the show after 16 seasons to create Making the Cut for Amazon Prime Video.
