The Highest-Paid Women in Music

Beyoncé has dethroned Taylor Swift in Forbes’ annual music business review. Each year, Forbes analyzes artist revenues and reveals its list of the year’s top-earning musicians. The top-earning women were revealed this week, and Queen Bey thrones on top of the list.

Her #1 album Lemonade, combined with the Formation world tour and other activities earned her a combined $105 million. That’s before taxes and management fees, but still!

The other women on the list fell far behind:

1. Beyoncé: $105M

2. Adele: $69M

3. Taylor Swift: $44M

4. Céline Dion: $42M

5. Jennifer Lopez: $38M

6. Dolly Parton: $37M

7. Rihanna: $36M

8. Britney Spears: $34M

9. Katy Perry: $33M

10. Barbara Strisand: $30M

Perhaps the most surprising finding in Forbes’ analysis is that older artists consistently rank in the top 10. The likes of Barbara Streisand (75) and Dolly Parton (71) are still very active, and have proven their impressive staying power by earning tens of millions this late in their careers.
