This Crashed Car Saved its Driver’s Life Toyota of Surprise

An Arizona Toyota dealer made the PR move of the century by prominently displaying a crashed car on its floor. At first glance, you might wonder why: the white Camry is wrecked beyond repair after being rear-ended at high speed and sandwiched between two semi-trailers.

The good news is, the vehicle was designed with crashes like this in mind. Its safety features, including a reinforced passenger cabin, kept most of the car intact and likely saved the driver’s life. All four doors still work, and the driver walked away without any serious injuries.

Toyota of Surprise made waves online after sharing pictures of the wrecked vehicle to their Facebook page:

At first, Toyota’s headquarters and insurance department were hesitant to allow a crashed car to be displayed like this in one of their dealerships… But their reservations soon faded after the dealer’s post received over 22,000 like, 27,000 shares and almost 10,000 comments ranging from shock to amazement. It turns out, this was the best advertising stunt a car dealer could hope for.
