A developing situation is unfolding at Toronto Pearson International Airport following reports of gunshots early Thursday morning.
Toronto Paramedics responded to the scene at approximately 7 a.m., shortly after passengers reported hearing multiple shots. Peel Regional Police later confirmed that an adult male was shot and injured by a responding officer.
The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) announced via social media that access to Terminal 1 from Highway 409 is currently closed due to the ongoing investigation.
