Selena Gomez has had the name of her latest album tattooed on her neck.

The singer released Rare, her third solo studio record, last week, with the album featuring tracks including Lose You to Love Me and Look at Her Now and receiving positive reviews from music critics.

On Thursday, Selena took to Instagram to share that she had decided to have the title inked in small cursive script on the side of her neck.

"Did it again," she wrote alongside a still image of the tattoo as well as a video of herself looking at the design for the first time.

Selena credited Keith "Bang Bang" McCurdy and the Bang Bang Tattoo parlour in New York City for the body art. Speaking to E! News, Bang Bang explained that the 27-year-old was thrilled with the final result.

"I think she always had her neck in mind so we tried a few different spots but then decided on her neck right under her jaw. After we placed it there she instantly said she 'loved it,'" he told the outlet. "She felt it would be an easy thing to cover if she ever did an acting job, it would only need a little spot of make-up to cover and that was her only concern with putting it in a prominent place."

And while a few of Selena's 166 million Instagram followers were surprised by her choice of placement, the majority had positive remarks about the tattoo.

"I love that tattoo! It's so powerful and cute at the same time!" one fan posted, while another added: "I love everything about this."

Selena is no stranger to body art. She also has a music note on her right wrist, the roman numerals for the number 76 on the back of her neck, and the word "sunshine" on her right foot, among others.
