Justin Bieber has taken to social media to show off his new laurel wreath tattoo.
The Sorry hitmaker posted a string of selfies on his Instagram Stories on Thursday, with most of the images focused on his growing moustache.
But many fans soon noticed that Justin had a fresh tattoo on his neck - a laurel wreath design that extended across both collarbones, framing his other body art.
The 25-year-old didn't share a close-up of the laurel wreath or credit a particular tattoo artist, though the inking no doubt holds a lot of meaning, especially as he is gearing up to drop his fifth studio album, titled Changes, on 14 February.
Tracing all the way back to Greek mythology, a round wreath made of connected branches has long been held as a symbol of triumph, with the god of Apollo often represented wearing a laurel wreath on his head in imagery, while wreaths were also awarded to victors in athletic competitions, including at the ancient Olympics.
Yet, the tattoo could be a reference to Justin's battle with Lyme disease too, with the star having confirmed his secret health crisis earlier this month, as the aromatic green tree was believed to have healing powers in folk medicine.
Justin is already covered in body art, with his collection including a portrait of Jesus Christ on his left calf, the word "Believe" on his left inner arm, angel wings on the back of his neck, and a depiction of an owl on one arm.
In addition to his new music, the Canadian is currently also promoting his documentary series, Justin Bieber: Seasons, which is now available to view on YouTube.
