Halsey drove fans wild as she debuted her newly shaved head on social media.

The 26-year-old shared a clip of her dramatic new 'do on TikTok, and later uploaded the video to Instagram, promoting an outpouring of compliments from her 21.7 million followers.

The You Should Be Sad singer began the video, which was soundtracked by a popular audio clip used by many on the video-sharing site, wearing a long, brown wig, before flipping her head back to reveal the buzz cut.

"I did it," she simply captioned the clip, and later explained her reasons for ditching her hair when quizzed on the transformation by a fan on Twitter.

"Did you go bald for a specific reason like the TV show or just felt like it?" one user asked the singer.

"I was growing it out for so long and I told myself I wouldn’t shave it till I saw what it was like healthy and long and then I saw it healthy and long and said 'mm this is nice but I miss bald.' and then so I did it!" Halsey replied.

She then uploaded another snap of her new 'do on Instagram, and joked that she had shaved her locks off so she could wear a hat without messing up her hair during the colder seasons.

"Just in time 4 beanie weather," she quipped.

Halsey also shaved her head back in 2015, and the biracial singer said her hair was a "big indicator of racial issues" in her life.

"It’s one of the ultimate symbolic struggles for women of colour. Shaving my head was important to me because I needed to be able to prove that I could still love myself if I did it," the Without Me hitmaker told Nylon magazine at the time.
