Gisele Bundchen has shared her skincare tips, explaining food and water are like "medicine" for her body.

The model was recently named the face of Dior's Capture Totale skincare collection and has made a video for Vogue Paris detailing how she looks after her complexion.

In the video, Gisele told viewers the most important thing to remember is to follow a healthy diet and keep hydrated.

"I think we are what we eat," she explained, "And that food should be our medicine. It is very important to drink plenty of water and eat food that comes from the earth, like fruits and vegetables, rather than processed food. All of this is reflected directly on the skin.

"Water is your best ally to have beautiful skin, so you need to drink plenty of it. I also rely on electrolytes, which help better absorb water and increase hydration tenfold."

The healthy-living star also recommends drinking a cup of warm water with lemon each morning, staying positive, and getting enough sleep, as these are all "essential" to a glowing complexion.

Gisele loves using aromatherapy facial mists to give herself a boost and usually adds either rose or lavender oil, depending on the condition of her skin.

The 40-year-old then revealed her favourite product to clean her face at the end of each day.

"I always remove make-up with organic coconut oil (the same one I use for cooking) because it is, in my opinion, the easiest way to remove all traces," she said. "I put it all-over on my face, remove it with a cotton ball and then rinse it all off with lukewarm water.

"Then I intensely nourish my skin with a good moisturiser, before applying make-up. This is the secret to making it healthier and smoother."
