Marion Cotillard wears a recreation of a dress worn by Chanel founder Gabrielle Chanel in her debut No. 5 campaign.
It was announced in February that Oscar-winning French actress Marion was the new face of the iconic perfume.
Her first advert has finally dropped, with Marion stunning in a gold dress featuring 10,000 sequins hand-sewn onto fine lace.
"The dress I dance in is a gold dress. It's a reinterpretation of a dress Gabrielle Chanel wore. It's a gem, quite simply," Marion revealed in a video exclusively shared on Vogue.co.uk.
In a further tribute to the Chanel legacy, the gown was inspired by embroidery requested by late label head Karl Lagerfeld in 1996. Chanel's current creative director Virginie Viard asked for it to be recreated for the new campaign.
The advert officially drops on 29 October, marking the launch of the Chanel No. 5 Holiday collection. Available alongside the scent is a body cream, shower gel, and a deodorant.
In a statement shared by the French fashion house, Marion explained what Chanel's famous fragrance means to her.
"I would say that No. 5 holds the idea of a feminine essence," the 45-year-old mused. "Combined with the major challenge of pleasing yourself before anyone else. But it could just as well be worn by a man! Essentially, when I think of No. 5, I think of a soul who is searching for freedom."
