Madonna has unveiled her first-ever tattoo.
The Material Girl singer revealed the inaugural ink by sharing a series of photos on Instagram on Monday which documented her visit to the Shamrock Social Club, a tattoo parlour in Hollywood.
The slideshow of snaps show her having a consultation about the piece with tattoo artist East Iz, while they both wear face coverings, and her lying down as he etches the design on her left inner wrist.
Towards the end of the slideshow, she debuted the tattoo itself - the letters "L R D M S E" in a typewriter-style font.
The initials serve as a permanent tribute to her six children - Lourdes, 24, Rocco, 20, David, 15, Mercy, 14, and twin daughters Stella and Estere, eight.
In the accompanying caption, she wrote, "Inked for The Very First Time............. (writing emoji) #family," a reference to her hit song Like a Virgin, which includes the line "touched for the very first time".
In the photos, the 62-year-old was dressed casually in a Burberry argyle sweater and stayed safe by using a black and white bandana over her mouth. She is still sporting the pink hair she debuted on social media back in October.
The Vogue star's tribute to her family comes shortly after she shared a rare snap of her with all six of her children on Instagram as they celebrated Thanksgiving together.
Her eldest daughter Lourdes also hit headlines this week for starring in the campaign for Juicy Couture's collaboration with underwear brand Parade. In the shots, she can be seen rocking the 2000s-inspired underwear in a variety of settings.
