Scarlett Johansson is launching her own beauty brand.
The actress is the latest in a long line of celebrities to dabble in the industry, and her as-yet-unnamed line is due to be unveiled in early 2022.
"I've been fascinated by the transformative power of beauty since I was a child," Scarlett said in a statement to WWD. "My mother instilled in me a passion for self-care from my early teenage years. Several years ago, I took a step back from my beauty deals with the goal of creating something true to me. The result is a clean, accessible approach to beauty."
The brand will be funded by The Najafi Companies, which has also invested in Tracee Ellis Ross' Pattern Beauty range and Millie Bobby Brown's line florence by mills.
Scarlett will be developing the company with co-founder Kate Foster, who previously worked in the beauty divisions for Juicy Couture and Victoria's Secret, and the pair have been discussing plans for the line for a couple of years.
"I met Scarlett almost two years ago. She shared her brand vision with me and right away, I was thinking about how we could turn it into a reality. It has been an incredible experience working alongside her and we are thrilled to have the support and partnership of The Najafi Companies to help the brand achieve its full potential," Foster told WWD.
"We are proud to have built a brand that fills a void in the market and addresses a true consumer need. Our brand platform is differentiated and has a great deal of runway for growth and expansion."
Industry insiders told WWD the initial investment in the company will be somewhere between $5 million (£3.5 million) and $10 million (£7 million).
