Oprah Winfrey matched her suit to the roses in her garden for the Adele One Night Only concert special.
For the CBS show, the British singer performed singles from her new album, 30, as well as hits from her back catalogue, with the songs interspersed with a candid conversation with TV icon Oprah.
Reflecting on why she chose the cream Brunello Cucinelli jumpsuit and jacket for the interview in a chat for Oprah Daily, Oprah revealed she wanted her outfit to complement the blooms in her backyard.
"I had fretted so much, but it was the right choice for me," she noted. "The crew ended up blocking out all the coloured roses, so you can only see the white ones."
Oprah went on to explain that she had originally planned on wearing a brighter colour for the interview, but changed her mind when she learned Adele would be sporting a chic white suit designed by Christopher John Rogers.
"Even though I have a closet full of clothes and haven't been anywhere in two years, I wanted something special for the interview in my rose garden," she stated, before musing on the coral number she contemplated. "I thought, 'Wow, I'm going to look like a parrot next to her.' I even had a conversation with Gayle (King) about it. I said, 'Oh my God, everybody went to the trouble to get this suit made, and now she's going to be in a neutral colour. I don't want to stand out like a peacock.'
"Of course, Gayle said, 'I love being a peacock.' But, listen, I certainly do not love being a peacock."
