Kourtney Kardashian's custom-made wedding veil contained a tribute to one of Travis Barker's tattoos.
The reality TV star and Blink-182 drummer hosted their friends and family for a romantic celebration in Portofino, Italy on Sunday, having officially tied the knot at a courthouse in Santa Barbara last week.
For the nuptials, Kourtney wore a white silk lace and satin dress and a "one-of-a-kind" hand-embroidered veil from Dolce & Gabbana.
Explaining their inspiration for the look, designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana noted that they took inspiration from the iconic figures of the Italian lingerie and la dolce vita, while the Madonna motif on Kourtney's long tulle veil with floral lace appliqués was a tribute to the body art Travis has on the top of his head.
"The veil has been hand-embroidered with a large depiction of the Virgin Mary and the words 'family loyalty respect,'" a brand representative shared. "The embroidery, done with the 'cross stitch' technique, recalls her husband Travis' tattoo and is a symbol of alliance, respect and common devotion."
Travis, 46, also has a praying hands design on his head.
Reflecting on the religious imagery in an interview with Vice in 2015, the rocker discussed his beliefs.
"Well, I got the Virgin Mary tattooed on my foreman when I was 18, 19. and I was brought up Catholic. I definitely pray; I believe in God. I definitely think I was blessed," he said at the time.
Kourtney and Travis confirmed they were dating in January 2021 and got engaged last October.
