The story of Amy Winehouse - the Grammy-winning singer and songwriter who passed away in 2011 from alcohol poisoning - has already been told in a few different movies.

First, in Amy, a documentary released in 2015 covering the life and struggles of Amy Winehouse. Then, in Amy Winehouse : Back to Black released in 2018, a movie taking a look at one of the singer's albums. Finally, in 2021's Reclaiming Amy, a film in which the singer's family and surroundings reflect on the life she lived.
This Summer, it was officially confirmed that Back to Black, a new movie directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, the director behind Fifty Shades of Grey, would be released. The movie will be focused on Amy's journey from the 90's to the end of her life.
With production starting this week, Studio Canal revealed a first look at Marisa Abela playing the iconic signer-songwriter. Marisa Abela is better known for her roles in Indusry drama series and new movie Barbie starring Margot Robbie.
