One of our very own, Adrien Morot, got nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Makeup and Hairstyling category. His work with Brendan Fraser in 'The Whale', along makeup artists Judy Chin and Anne Marie Bradley, is what merited him this nomination.

This isn't the first Oscar nomination the Quebecer receives. In 2010, he was recognized for his work in 'Barney's version'. A Genie Award along with a Jutra were awarded to him for this film.

Morot hopes nominations like these will help shine a light on Montreal and their artists. He hopes producers will become more and more confident in the metropolitain's local talent in the future.
