Journalism's very own Lisa Laflamme won BIG at the Canadian Screen Awards held in Toronto last night.
After being nominated back in February, this is a huge acollade for the Canadian journalist (though she's already won 3 previous times!)
The Gordon Sinclair Award for Broadcast Journalism prize won by Lisa lead to the first standing ovation of the evening. This comes only a few months after the broadcast journalist's unfortunate scandal with CTV news.
When Lisa was let go by CTV last year, many questioned if the media company had decided to replace her due to her recent grey hair. Topics of sexism and ageism in the workplace were raised, questioning whether women are treated fairly in the media industry as they gain years of experience in the workplace.
One thing we can say is, 'You go, Lisa!' Congratulations to this Canadian journalist!
