Amy Schumer is poking fun at her new single status in her stand-up comedy routine, just weeks after splitting from boyfriend Ben Hanisch.

The Trainwreck star's representative revealed the actress and furniture designer Ben had called it quits in mid-May (17), and Amy did not shy away from the topic as she hit the stage for the Hilarity for Charity variety show in New York on Thursday (08Jun17).

"I went through a break-up about a month ago," the 36-year-old told the crowd. "We were (together) a year-and-a-half, you know, it's not that bad."

She then joked about having a new man in her life: "I'm dating this new dude. He's awesome," she smiled.

"He's like Stephen Hawking, sexually," Amy quipped, referencing the renowned British physicist, who is a quadriplegic after battling neurological disease amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) for decades.

Amy also opened up further about her relationship with Ben, admitting they may have rushed things early on in their romance, after meeting via a dating app in late 2015.

"We went out with a couple who had been together a long time," she recalled of one awkward incident. "We were trying to rush the intimacy. I was trying to impress the girl and I was like, 'Well, he woke me up this morning with a fart!'

"And he just slowly turned to me and he goes, 'Are we doing this?' And I was like, 'No, no, no, no, we're not opening fire. Don't tell me any of the disgusting s**t I've done.'"

Amy's split from Ben came as a surprise to many fans, as she had recently gushed about the "kind" 30-year-old, insisting she had never felt so comfortable in a relationship.

"I've had a lot of competing, you know?" she told America's InStyle magazine. "Or just people who, due to their own insecurity, need you to be smaller. I feel like I can shine with him and also be nothing and we're good."
