While the 2025 federal election is officially over, Elections Canada has announced that more than 68% of eligible voters cast their ballots — meaning over 19.5 million Canadians went to the polls.
This marks the highest voter turnout since the 1993 federal election, when 69.6% of eligible voters participated.
According to Elections Canada, approximately 7.3 million people voted in advance polls.
On Monday, April 28, Canada officially elected the Liberal Party, which secured 43.7% of the popular vote and 169 seats.
