If you thought chocolate could only come be dark, milk or white… Think again!
Nestlé has just released an intriguing new KitKat flavour which is also pink in colour! The bizarre new product, called KitKat Ruby, is only available in the UK for now, but if it catches on over there, we might start seeing it in more places!
The candy was also released in Japan and Korea – those markets are famously tolerant of bizarre and exotic flavours and colours. Over there, KitKat Ruby goes by an appropriately exotic name, “Kit Kat Chocolatory Sublime Rub”… Yep, sounds about right?!
Reportedly, the taste lingers somewhere between “chocolate” and the “tartness of berries” but slightly sour.
Don’t be fooled about the colour, though! Nestlé says these bars don’t contain any artificial colours or flavours. In fact, the rose colouring comes from the cocoa beans used to make the chocolate: ruby cocoa beans are harvested on the Ivory Coast, in Ecuador and in Brazil. They’re responsible for the candy’s pink colour.
