After 52 years in service, the last of Montreal’s MR-63 trains will be taken out of service in June. It’s the end of an era, and to commemorate these exceptional vehicles, the STM is organizing one final “tour de piste” on all four metro lines.
The MR-63 trains were the first to service Montreal’s underground network since its opening in 1966. Since then, each car has traveled more than four million kilometres underground, getting Montrealers from point A to point B and everywhere in between!
It’s a nostalgic moment for STM employees and the public alike, as many of us have known the MR-63 cars for most of our lives. That’s why the STM is organizing one final “farewell tour” for the last of the MR-63 cars. It will be visiting each of Montreal’s four metro lines at the end of June before being taken out of service for good…
- Yellow Line: Monday, June 18
- Green Line: Tuesday, June 19
- Orange Line: Wednesday, June 20
- Blue Line: Thursday, June 21
The train will be on the metro tracks during the morning and evening rush hour only! Don’t miss it!
