Montreal drivers are urged to avoid the Atwater Tunnel and its surrounding areas after a purst water pipe began flooding the structure early this morning.
Gas utility workers cause a 24" water pipe to burst open, flooding the structure with water. This afternoon, the tunnel was almost completely submerged, with two cars belonging to construction workers visibly sunken into the water. Although this incident will undoubtedly be expensive to clean up, no one was hurt.
Mayor Valérie Plante is urging drivers to avoid the area.
