As Montreal prepares to celebrate the Holidays, it’s important to plan around what will be open and closed!
In general, stores and businesses are closed on Christmas Tuesday and New Year’s Day (the following Tuesday). The SAQ's opening hours vary by store - but they all open at 1 pm on Boxing Day and January 2. All SAQ branches are closed on Christmas and New Year’s Day. Note that your local SAQ may not respect the hours written on the website, and may even be shut down completely due to rotating, random strikes.
On the night of December 31st to January 1st, the STM metro system will be open all night long - a safe and efficient way to get home after the New Year's celebration!
