Quebec creates an action group to fight racism
/ Emilie Nadeau

The Premier of Quebec, François Legault, announced today the creation of an action group to fight racism. The committee in question will have the mandate to produce a plan to combat this issue.

The committee will be co-chaired by Nadine Girault and Lionel Carmant, respectively Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, and Minister Delegate for Health and Social Services. The committee would also include Minister Sylvie d'Amours (Aboriginal Affairs) and members Ian Lafrenière and Christopher Skeete.

It is unclear at this time whether the committee would be subject to a timetable.
The announcement of the creation of this committee comes in the wake of a series of calls to fight systemic racism in Quebec.
