Masks will be Mandatory at the Montreal Casino
After closing its doors back in March due to Covid-19, Casino de Montreal is set to reopen to the public on August 3 with strict health precautions.
Casino de Montreal will be the last of Quebec’s casinos to reopen, and they will have new limits on the number of people allowed to enter to comply with distancing measures.
Only six sections of the casino will be open, and the casino will only accommodate up to 250 people at a time in each facility.
Instead of staying open 24/7, the casino will instead open every day from 9 am to 4 am.
Under the new rules, there will be a reduced number of players allowed to sit at gaming tables.
Gamblers will be given rubber-tipped pens to avoid touching slot machines with their hands and there will be no handling of cards or chips by the customer.
And perhaps the biggest and most surprising new rule is that masks will be mandatory for all clients and employees.
According to the website, the game’s chips will be disinfected once per day and protective barriers have been installed throughout the venue. Guests will also be required to wash their hands upon entering and again when entering other areas throughout the casino.
Bars and show halls will remain closed.
“Every effort has been made to ensure your safety and that of our employees,” says the casino’s website. “The protective and preventive measures that we’ve put in place are based on recommendations issued by the Direction de la santé publique du Québec and the Commission des normes, de l’équité, de la santé et de la sécurité du travail (CNESST).”
