Mobilité Montreal is informing road users that major closures will be put in place during the weekend, particularly on Highway 40 eastbound between the Côte-de-Liesse interchanges (Highway 520 ) and Décarie, on Route 136 / Autoroute 720 eastbound between the Turcot interchange and the Ville-Marie tunnel as well as in the Angrignon / Autoroute 20 interchange (west corridor). These areas are to be avoided if possible.
Below is a breakdown of what you can expect this long Labor Day weekend followed by images detailing the road closures and detours.
HIGHWAY 40
Friday 11:59 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m.
There will be a complete closure of Highway 40 East between Exit 65 (A-520 West, Côte-de-Liesse roundabout, Marcel-Laurin Blvd.) and the entrance to the ramp from Highway 15 North (Décarie).
Tuesday. Detour via Côte-de-Liesse East to the entrance at Ste-Croix Ave., after the Décarie Interchange. For users heading to the A 15 SUD (Décarie), take Boulevard Décarie and the entrance at Avenue Royalmount.
ROUTE 136 / HIGHWAY 720
Friday 10 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m.
There will be a complete closure of Highway 720 East (toward downtown) between the Turcot Interchange and the entrances to Notre Dame St. W. and de la Cathédrale St. in the Ville-Marie Tunnel.
There is a detour from the A-20 EST or the A-15 SUD (Décarie), via the ramp for the A-15 SUD, exit 61 for avenue Atwater, rue Saint-Jacques and rue de la Cathedral.
Trucks can take exit 60 (boulevard Gaétan-Laberge), junction to A-10 OUEST (Bonaventure) and boulevard Robert-Bourassa.
Turcot Interchange
There is a default closure of the ramps leading from the A-15 SUD (Décarie) and the A-20 EST to the R-136 / A-720 EST (downtown)
There will also be a complete closure of Highway 10 East (toward the Samuel De Champlain Bridge) between Wellington St. and the entrance from Carrie-Derick St. from 9 p.m.
ANGRIGNON / HIGHWAY 20 EXCHANGER
Friday 10 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m.
There will also be a closure of Ste-Anne-de-Bellevue Blvd. (R-138) in both directions between St-Jacques St. and Notre-Dame St. W., including entrances for Highway 20 East and West.
There will be a closure on A-20 WEST and Honoré-Mercier Bridge: Montreal-Toronto Boulevard and the entrance to 1re Avenue for A-20 WEST. Towards the bridge, make a U-turn at 1re Avenue, boulevard Montréal-Toronto east and take the ramp for R-138 WEST.
DORVAL EXCHANGER AND HIGHWAY 520
Friday 9 p.m. to Tuesday at 5 a.m.
Expect a complete closure of the A-520 EST between the roundabout.
