How come when you eat at a restaurant your food tastes so flavorful and tasty? Helen Tzouganatos author of Easy Gluten-Free, said she wished she knew this common mistake we all make in the kitchen.
Not seasoning our food properly
You might not be seasoning your food properly. A lot of us season our foods after or just as it’s almost finished cooking but did you know the right time to season your food is while you are cooking. Make sure to season these foods as you start cooking: Pasta, green vegetables, and meat. Doing this will intensify the flavors, soften your proteins, and enhance any sweetness in your vegetables.
Not adding acid
Home cooks make the mistake of not adding acid to their dishes. Helen Tzouganatos says that lemon juice, a splash of vinegar, wine, tomatoes, and yogurt will definitely bring your dish to life, making the flavors pop. She said not only does acid brighten food but also tenderizes it.
