A new app to make it easier to access downtown parking in Montreal

If you find it is hard to locate parking in downtown Montreal, you might be happy to learn the city is set to unveil a new app that will let motorists see which parking spots are available in real-time.
The app (which is called P$ Montréal Centre-Ville) identifies and geolocates several private parking lots located near Ste-Catherine St. and suggests places and times that are available to park.
“The goal here is to give citizens options,” city councillor Éric Alan Caldwell told the Montreal Gazette in an interview Tuesday. “We wanted to consolidate the supply of parking lots and direct citizens to available spots in a more efficient way.”
The app was tested earlier in the summer by about 1,500 motorists and is now available to download on the Apple Store and Google Play platforms.

The new version of the mobile application integrates a major novelty: several private parking lots in this area located near Sainte-Catherine Street will now be identified, geolocated on a map, and will be easily accessible through the application.
P$ Montréal Centre-Ville aims to allow downtown visitors to take advantage of various existing parking lots offering and thus reduce the time to find a parking space. This project is being carried out in collaboration with the City of Montreal, as part of the redevelopment works of Sainte-Catherine Street.
A first partnership was developed with seven (7) Indigo Park Canada parking lots, which allows the user to benefit from the same rates as on-street parking on Sainte- Catherine Street West, up to a maximum of 2 hours.
Thanks to the new P$ Montréal Centre-Ville features, you will be able to:
- Connect with the same login information as P$ Mobile Service
- View the Agency and its partner‘ parking offer, its location on a map, and the applicable rates by sector
- Plan your trips
- RSVP and pay your parking in advance in a selection of participating lots/garages
- Take advantage of the on-street parking pricing in participating lots/garages
- Use the navigation tool to get to your destination
- A service fee of $0.07 (7 cents) will be applied per transaction. Every transaction is processed independently of the previous ones.
