Is there something that runs through your mind that you worry about every time you leave your house?

How many times have you left the house and contemplated turning back just in case you forgot to lock the door, close the window, left the coffee machine on, or even your hair straightener.

According to a study, almost two-thirds of adults worry about this all the time.

Here are some tips that helped people prepare for leaving the house:

  • Make a checklist and go through it just before leaving to put your mind at ease.
  • Take a picture of the locked door, or your straightener turned off, to remind yourself you did turn it off.
  • Paying closer attention when leaving the house. Slow down and be very mindful as you are doing things such as taking a good mental image of the door, paying close attention to the beeping of the alarm, and focusing on the key turning - with a good tug on the door.
