Mayor Valerie Plante announced that some Montrealers may be eligible for free filtered water pitchers and a year's supply of replacement filters. This is due to possible lead contamination. Plante, announced $30 million in funding to upgrade Montreal's water infrastructure. She will also test 100,00 homes for lead and speed up the replacement of lead-lined pipes.
