With more people staying home, Canada’s fire services have seen an increase in kitchen fires!

According to Allstate Canada Insurance, residential fires related to cooking or smoking saw a 333 percent increase between March and May 2020 (in at number two is smoking)

We have so much more going on at home that we’re not paying attention while cooking.

Remember, never throw water on a grease fire, smother it; have at least one fire extinguisher and know how to use it, and make sure you regularly check the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
