According to sex expert Jessica O'Reilly, not only are testosterone and energy levels higher in the morning but the increase in oxytocin levels keeps you and your partner bonded throughout the day while the endorphins put you in a better mood.
Of course, the big problem is trying to find the time. With so many people already rushing to get out the door each day, early mornings won’t work for everyone. However, don’t worry, there are other options…
Research also recommends having sex before a big presentation and after a workout. Regarding the former, having sex calms nerves, lowers blood pressure and reduces stress which helps you prepare. As for the latter, a recent study shows women feel more confident after a workout so their inhibitions will be checked at the bedroom door— not to mention, your body pumps out testosterone when you exercise.
Finally, topping the list is something we didn’t expect— having sex after you just did something scary.
According to O'Reilly, the best times to have sex is “right after an exhilarating experience, whether it be zip lining, riding a roller coaster, or even watching a scary movie”.
