Charlize Theron isn't missing getting glammed up for red carpet events during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Earlier this year, the 45-year-old actress was busily promoting her movie Bombshell, which landed her an Oscar nomination, and was spotted at several awards ceremonies, as well as the star-studded premiere of the drama.
And Charlize confessed that she was relieved that Hollywood went into lockdown when the Covid-19 outbreak began, because she needed a break from all the intense hair and make-up sessions, and designer dress fittings.
"Before Covid, I had come off a film that we highly promoted, and then it was the awards show circuit with three-and-a-half months of red carpet," the Oscar-winning actress told British Vogue. "Even before I knew about lockdown, the plan was to take a break, so I didn’t mind letting my hair grow out and having five-inch roots."
However, she's looking forward to getting back to normal in the near future, as she has started to miss getting dressed up.
"Towards the end though, like everyone else, you begin to miss putting yourself together a little bit. I quarantined with my mom and it got to the point that I would go to her house and announce: 'For dinner at your house, I shaved today!' Little things like that became a big deal," she joked.
Elsewhere in the interview, she opened up on her family life, and said she was trying to raise her two daughters – Jackson, who identifies as a girl, and August – to be resilient.
"I want them to feel prepared for whatever comes their way. Gender bias is alive and well, and I’m hoping us adults will take some responsibility and get some things in place to make life a little easier for the next generation," Charlize explained.
