Some experts say, parents should erase these common phrases from their vocabulary.

Nobody said parenting is easy. Parents aren’t perfect and even the best parents make mistakes. And one of the hardest things to learn as a parent is how to talk to kids. Children are increasingly impressionable and receptive and what we say to them is likely to carry with them in life.

Recently we discussed how parenting is a ridiculously hard job that can push even the calmest among us right to the edge. Next thing you know you’re accidentally saying something to your child that you immediately regret.

Inspired by an article from Best Life, here is a list of some of the phrases that educators agree you should avoid saying to your children.

"You're so dramatic."

"You're selfish."

"You don't feel that way."

"I wish you'd never been born."

"Why can't you be more like your sibling?"

"You're stupid."

"You're the man of the house."

"No dessert until you've finished dinner."

"Hurry up."

"What did you do to yourself?"

"Stop crying."

"Don't be a baby."

"You're the best at that!"

"You were an accident."

"You're okay."

"Why can't you do anything right?"

"What's wrong with you?"

"I don't believe you."

"There's nothing to be afraid of."

"You're lazy."

"You have to give them a hug or kiss."

"Your friends don't do that."

"I wouldn't do that if I were you."

"You should have done better."

"You should be ashamed"
