My Dad the Spy, written by legendary Police drummer and musician Stewart Copeland takes us on his
lifelong journey as he discovers that his father, the central figure of his immediate family, is secretly
living a double life.
Miles Axe Copeland II, or “Dad” to Stewart, is a musician and businessman by day, and a secret, CIA
operative by night.
Going back in time to the 1940s, author Copeland traces his father’s involvement in the creation of the
CIA, and in some cases, learns more than he would like; he discovers an outside world of dictatorship
and cruel leaders, and the CIA’s role in overthrowing governments, their assassination plots, and his
father’s reality of working alongside double agents.
With the help of his siblings, and other family members and friends who were aware of Copeland’s life
in the CIA, Stewart details the impact of his father’s work on his own upbringing as well as its impact on
individuals and organizations worldwide.
As a true crime junkie, I absolutely loved this podcast; it is personal, factual, compelling and truly
unbelievable! This podcast and story clearly shows that we never know EVERYTHING about ANYONE.
