Oxford English Dictionary couldn't pick just one 'word of the year' for 2020
They say "2020 is not a year that could neatly be accommodated in one single 'word of the year, so instead they created a report, titled "Words of an Unprecedented Year,"
It moves through the year, detailing the most important words for certain months, like “bushfire" in January and "acquittal" in February, and, of course, it includes "Covid-19," in a completely new word, first recorded on February 11;
…"Lockdown," "social distancing" and "reopening." Came up in March. In June, the use of the phrase "Black Lives Matter" exploded. "Mail-in" was flagged in August and "superspreader" in October.
