Quebec reports over 1,300 new COVID-19 cases as Hospitalizations increase

Quebec health officials reported 1,345 new cases of COVID-19 earlier today along with 28 virus-related deaths.

According to Santé Quebec, five deaths occurred over the past 24 hours, twenty between Nov. 27 and Dec. 2, two from before Nov. 27, and one at one from an unknown date.

Montreal reported the most cases in Quebec on Friday, with 453 (total 52,674), followed by Quebec City, Lanaudiere, the Eastern Townships, and Monteregie.

As of this morning, there are 761 people in the province hospitalized due to COVID-19. Among those in the hospital, 97 are in intensive care.

Since the pandemic began, 7,183 people in Quebec have died from COVID-19.

Canada’s coronavirus death toll is now 12,407 and 396,270 total cases.
