“To avoid fainting, keep repeating, ‘It’s only traffic… Only traffic… Only traffic…’”
This weekend sees major roadwork across the city of Montreal including northbound Highway 15 between Nuns’ Island and De La Vérendrye Blvd., and Route 136/eastbound Highway 720 between the Turcot Interchange and the Ville-Marie tunnel.
Mobilité Montréal is warning motorists to try and avoid these areas.
Here’s your weekend traffic update:
Highway 15
Northbound Highway 15 will be closed after the Samuel-De Champlain Bridge, between Exit 58 and the entrance to De La Vérendrye Blvd, from 1 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
As a result, expect default closures at eastbound Highway 10 (Bonaventure) between Exit 4 (Gaétan-Laberge Blvd.) and Nuns’ Island; Exit 57-N on southbound Highway 15.
Nuns’ Island, Chemin de la Pointe Nord/Boulevard de l’Île-des-Sœurs will be closed in both directions between the Carrefour Alexander-Graham-Bell and Place du Commerce/Chemin du Golf; as well as the entrances from Nuns’ Island, Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. and Atwater Ave.
Route 136 / Highway 720
Route 136/eastbound Highway 720 will be closed between the Turcot Interchange and the entrances to Notre-Dame West and de la Cathédrale Sts. in the Ville-Marie tunnel from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.
Meanwhile, the entrance from Notre Dame St. W. and de la Cathédrale St., and from westbound Highway 10/Robert-Bourassa Blvd. will be closed Saturday between 6 a.m. to 11:59 p.m.
As a result, default closures in the Turcot Interchange include the ramps leading from southbound Highway 15 and eastbound Highway 20 to Route 136/eastbound Highway 720.
The ramp leading from northbound Highway 15 to Route 136/eastbound Highway 720; the entrance ramp leading from Pullman Blvd. to Route 136 / eastbound Highway 720; and the reserved lane on eastbound Route 136 leading to Atwater Ave. will also be closed.
SAINT-PIERRE INTERCHANGE
The Highway 20 West ramp to Route-138 West towards the Honore-Mercier Bridge will be closed from Saturday at 3:30 a.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
As a result, Saint-Pierre Interchange will also be closed until Monday.
SAMUEL-DE CHAMPLAIN BRIDGE
Two of three lanes will be closed on the span of the bridge heading for the South Shore from Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m.
L'ÎLE-AUX-TOURTES BRIDGE
From Friday at 11 p.m. to Monday at 5:30 a.m., the following road alteration is also in effect:
Two of three lanes on the bridge will be closed on Highway 40 West between Senneville (Island of Montreal) and Vaudreuil-Dorion.

From Friday at 10 p.m. to Monday at 5 a.m., the following closure will be in effect:
In the Turcot, the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136/A-720) ramp to Pullman Blvd.
