What is one thing you would like to see revitalize downtown this summer? This summer the City of Montreal announced that are spending millions to revitalize downtown for the summer.
The city, the province, and Montreal's Chamber of Commerce will be spending $33 million to do it. They are expecting to expand outside terraces, they want to make more roads pedestrian-friendly, they are investing in festivals and circus arts adapted to the public health guidelines, along with businesses, particularly bars and restaurants reopening. They also announced that $2 million has been set aside to revitalize Chinatown.
There will be free street-parking on Friday nights and weekends will be extended until Labour Day.
With the pandemic, there will be many changes for Montreal to make adjustments for everyone to stay safe. The City of Montreal is hoping that these changes will make our summer a little bit brighter.
