Affiliated with the Université de Montréal, Polytechnique Montréal ranks first in Canada for the scope of its engineering research… and for the first time in history, 30 percent of their engineering graduates are women.
This marks a huge milestone in the school’s history as a fellow graduate and President of the Order of Engineers of Quebec called this news: “Better representativeness of women within the profession is essential in order to be fully at the service of the common good.”
What is known to be a traditionally male-dominated field, women only account for about 15 percent of practicing engineers in Quebec, and just 14 per cent across Canada, according to the school’s data.
The school is actually ahead of a goal set by Engineers Canada to have women representing 30 percent of all certified engineers by 2030.
Congratulations to the graduating class of 2021!
