Lance Victor Moore, a fashion designer based in San Francisco, was approached for work by Lady Gaga’s personal stylist last year and completely changed his life forever.
Moore started designing couture face masks back in 2016, after a fellow fashion designer had asked for his assistance in her collection for New York Fashion Week. From that point on, Moore dedicated his work to fashion face masks for various art pieces.
Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, Moore received a message from Gaga’s personal stylist asking if he would be interested in collaborating with their team in creating pieces for some of Gaga’s upcoming projects.
You may recognize his work from Gaga’s 2020 MTV Music Awards on-stage looks and in her "911" music video, a song off of her latest album Chromatica.
What he loves most about making masks is the idea that you can rock a whole new persona by covering up a part of your face, while still being true to yourself. Moore believes that masking your identity is something that he wouldn’t wish on anyone as he’s experienced that first-hand as a member from the LGBTQIA+ community. Embracing your identity through a customized mask has been a passion project of his, long before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Combining his love of art, nature, and fashion, Moore’s masks have become high in demand ever since the iconic Bad Romance singer rocked them throughout a good portion of 2020.
“If you would have told me that I would be working with Lady Gaga in the middle of a global pandemic, I wouldn’t have believed you.”
