Well, this is strange.

There's an unofficial Céline Dion biopic being released that is playing out of competition at the Cannes Film Festival later this month, only the subject of the movie isn't actually named Céline.

The film in question, is directed, written, and stars Valérie Lemercier and is described as being "loosely inspired by the life of Céline Dion."  The film even features Dion’s hit songs but instead follows the life of a singing sensation from Quebec named Aline, who rises to stardom thanks to her music producer Guy-Claude who is of course, based on Dion’s real-life manager turned husband René Angelil.

We honestly can’t make sense of this trailer but before your head explodes, we recommend you watch the trailer below and decide for yourself.

Here is the synopsis for Aline:

Quebec, late 1960s, Sylvette and Anglomard welcome their 14th child: Aline. In the Dieu family, music reigns supreme and when Aline grows up, we discover a gift to her, she has a golden voice. When he hears that voice, music producer Guy-Claude has just one thing in mind … to make Aline the greatest singer in the world. Supported by her family and guided by the experience and then the budding love of Guy-Claude, they will together write the pages of an extraordinary destiny.
