Dwayne Johnson has endured a "pretty challenging" tattoo session in order to enhance his iconic bull inking.
The wrestler-turned-actor took to Instagram over the weekend to share a series of photos from his recent appointments with celebrity tattoo artist Yomico Moreno.
Noting that Moreno is the "master of hyper-realistic" body art, Johnson explained that his plan to switch up the bull motif on his right upper arm was extremely time-consuming.
"Close to 30 hrs of tattooing (pretty challenging as my whole upper arm and shoulder wasn't a blank canvas but rather enhancing and adding to what was already there so the level of detail, precision and specific colour for my skin takes a lot of time) with my brother @yomicoart (sic)," he captioned the snaps. "He's a master of hyper-realistic art and a great collaborator with me as we took months to fine-tune the story and information this tattoo has to tell."
Johnson added that he and Moreno had been discussing a plan for refreshing the inking over the course of the Covid-19 lockdown.
"Yomico's masterful in his skill and we've spent many months (almost a year thru Covid) collaborating on details and story that the tattoo will represent," The Rock stated, while the tattooist added, "Close to a year since we first made contact and begun talking about this collaboration and working together, which without a doubt had many challenges. Soon you will know the story behind these days. Thank you @therock for the trust."
It's not the first time Johnson, 49, has altered the tattoo. Back in August 2017, he posted a snapshot of Nikko Hurtado covering up his original Brahma bull motif.
