As fans worldwide obsess over the McDonald’s BTS Meals, Singapore creative Josiah Chua decided to turn the bright purple wrapping for the collaboration into a pair of eye-catching custom sneakers.

What’s even more impressive is that it seems like almost all the packaging items in the meal, from the cup to the sauces, have been incorporated. There’s even a special pocket on the side of the shoe created from the 9-piece nugget box, conveniently placed to store chicken nuggets on the go. The custom sneaker also features a functional element with a holster to house the nuggets at the ankles and the special Cajun and Sweet Chilli Sauces attached to the lacing.

Chua posted photos of his creation on social media and has since received tens of thousands of likes and positive comments, including various celebrities like Benjamin Kheng, Jasmine Sokko, and Jean Danker.

Chua meticulously cut and shaped panels from the McNuggets box and drink cup to create a mid-cut upper, starting with a Nike Air Max Plus TN base. Apparently, it took him four to five hours to clean and cut the cardboard pattern to fit the measurements of the shoes.

Chua said he hasn’t caught the attention of McDonald’s or BTS themselves but that “many platforms have shown love to the custom design and reactions have been overwhelming.”

Probably not for everyday wear, it is still impressive how creative he was when creating the custom sneakers.
